Partners In Health (PIH)

Partners In Health (PIH) is a nonprofit organization based in Boston, MA.  PIH is a world leader in developing clinical regimens and community-based strategies for combating MDR-TB in resource-poor settings, and has published clinical care manuals for MDR-TB in English, Spanish, and Russian.  In Peru, PIH has worked in rural areas to identify and treat MDR-TB; PIH’s work there helped bring global attention to MDR-TB and led to WHO publishing the 2006 guidelines for MDR-TB in collaboration with PIH and others.  In Russia, PIH worked to fight MDR-TB in Siberia and Tomsk, working in particular with prisoners and other vulnerable populations.  PIH also provides humanitarian aid, most notably in Haiti, and works in food security, HIV/AIDS, and maternal and child health.
PIH provides technical assistance in MDR-TB diagnosis and treatment, health systems strengthening, HIV/TB co-infection treatment, and TB advocacy and policy.
